Project conditions

1. Consent to submit an application for support
The Will Do foundation aims to support projects that we have had personal contact with. The project administrators can submit an application for support after our quartermaster has visited the project and he has given his consent in consultation with the our board.
Applications for support are only accepted from non-governmental / not for profit organisations in Africa (preferably South Africa) which provide support to infants, youths and adults who are suffering as a result of the AIDS epidemic.

2. Project criteria
Applications for support can concern a request for financial support in relation to either a specific planned expenditure (e.g. renovation of a building, founding of an orphanage, purchasing of agricultural equipment etc.) or a monthly contribution to the operating costs of a project (e.g. living expenses, medicine, rent or salaries)
If the request for financial support includes salaries, these should be at a basic level and preferable for work performed by a local person. This has a positive impact on the community.
‘Will Do’ also supports development of activities to make projects more self-sufficient and less reliant on support, and aims to explore opportunities to achieve this with the local organisations.

3. Submitting an application for support
The application for support has to include a detailed project plan including a description of the current situation and the planned improvements. If there are alternatives these should be compared in the project plan. Where possible, the plan should be divided into parts accompanied by a clear description on to what extent the various parts can be completed independently from each other.

In addition, the project plan has to include:
a. A detailed project budget.
b. A realistic timeline in which the project can be completed.
c. A financial annual report
d. Any relevant attachments (e.g. operating permits, title deeds, etc.).

4. Deciding on applications for support
When an application for support is received by the Will Do foundation one of our quartermasters (currently Wil Groot and Martin Lont) will verify the application against their experience at the project. The board of the foundation will check the application for completeness, and where necessary request additional information. When these checks are completed and any additional information has been received, the board will decide on the application as soon as practicable, but in any case within four weeks from the submission date of the original application.

5. Payment of funds

When an application for support has been approved by the board, a decision will be made on the payments from ‘Will Do’ funds. The board can decide to pay either the full amount of support in a single payment, or divide up the amount of support into a number of payments based on the project parts and/or the time planning of the project.
It may be the case that fundraising activities will have to be initiated, and / or support will have to be requested from other charity funds to be able to fund a project. If it seems unlikely that our efforts will raise sufficient funds for the total project budget, we will notify the local organisation that applied for our support so that they can seek additional funding from other sources to make up the remainder of the project budget.

6. Reporting requirements

The local organisations receiving ‘Will Do’ support have to ensure that the funds received are used only to realise the project as approved by the board of the Will Do foundation. In the event of unforseen circumstances Wil Groot and the board should be notified. The local organisation receiving funds is obliged to submit a detailed descriptive and financial report on how the funds are used as soon as practicable.
